The examiner that marks the paper.
The coach that gets you ready for it.

Markaroo is two products on one assessment engine, trained on the mark schemes your board actually uses. Marking marks a complete paper in seconds. Learning turns a single answer into a top-band one.

Shown here in a department and on a student’s phone — both products run either way.

Markaroo Learning

Two products. Take one, or both.

They are split by what they do, not by who they’re for. Both are available to a department and to a student on their own. Marking marks work that is already written; Learning gets you ready to write the next one.

One engine. Two products.

The marking a student practises against is the same marking their department runs on the real paper — the same mark schemes, the same assessment objectives, the same standard. It is the one thing the two products share, and the reason neither drifts from the other. Run both and a student practises against the exact standard they will be marked by.

Tonbridge School

The same examiner technology teachers use to mark real student essays at Tonbridge.

A human always decides

In schools, every mark is a draft until a teacher approves it. Students always see the reasoning, never just a number.

UK servers, UK GDPR

Data is hosted in the UK, never shared with third parties, never used to train external models.

Frequently asked questions

The questions that apply to both products. For questions about one of them — boards, subjects, pricing, the pilot — see the FAQ on Marking or Learning.

How accurate is the marking?
Markaroo is trained on board-specific mark schemes and standardisation materials. In our pilot, AI-generated marks have shown strong alignment with senior examiner benchmarks. In schools, every mark and comment is a draft for teacher review. For students, every mark comes with the examiner’s reasoning, never just a number.
Is student data secure?
All data is hosted on UK-based servers and processed in compliance with UK GDPR. Student data is never shared with third parties, never used to train external models, and can be deleted at any time upon request.
Can a school take both products?
Yes, and many will want to. Marking marks the work your students have already handed in; Learning gives those same students a coach to practise with before they hand the next piece in. Take either on its own, or both together — tell us on the demo form and we’ll cover whichever you’re interested in.
Can I use Markaroo on my own, without my school?
Yes — and that goes for both products, not just one. Learning is built for it: you buy it, and it works whether or not your school has Markaroo. Marking works the same for one paper as it does for thirty, so you can upload your own answers and get them marked against the real mark scheme without a school account.
Do the two products talk to each other?
They share the same marking engine and the same mark schemes, so a student practising is held to the same standard their department applies on the real paper. They are, however, separate products with separate accounts and separate billing — a school does not have to buy Learning, and a student does not need their school to have Markaroo at all.

Marking, coaching, or both?

Both work for a whole department and for one student on their own. Marking starts with a free pilot for schools, or a single upload if it’s just your paper. Learning starts free, today.
